Official Race Start time - 8:15

Update 805am no lightning since 742am.  still planning on an 815 start.

Update 8:00am there's been no lightning for 15+ min.  If no lightning continues we will start at 8:15.  Please note, if lightning after the start, we will have to cancel the race.

Update 7:42am.  lightning at this time means we need to delay the start 30 min.  The race will not start before 8:15am.  Our goal is to conduct the race if and when it is safe for you.

Update 7;30AM  -  there is still periodic lightning. We cannot start the race until there has been no lightning for at least 30 minutes.  It is highly likely we will not be able to start at 8:00 a.m.  next update 7:45

Update 6:30AM - The course is setup and ready.  There is heavy rain and occasional lightning at the race site.  Please remain safely in your vehicle upon arrival if the threat of lightning persists.  We will continue to monitor conditions with the hopes of racing.  Rain does not threaten the race, of course lightning does. Next update by 7:30.

Updated as of 4:30AM - There is a high probability of rain during the race, please plan accordingly.  The race will take place rain or shine.  We are currently setting up and preparing for an on-time start.  If the risk of lightning alters the race day schedule, updates will be made here.

The beauty of the fall colors at Lake Bloomington in late October awaits you.

ABOUT THE DAM SITE RUN...  The Dam Site Run was created in 2020.  It started as simply a rare opportunity to race that year when nearly every other race was cancelled.  Turns out, the late October date meant perfect fall colors as the leaves started to fall around Lake Bloomington, creating the perfect backdrop for a fall race.

THE HALF MARATHON RETURNS FOR 2021!   Be sure to like the Facebook Page for updates:

$10 DISCOUNT FOR LAKE RUN CLUB MEMBERS!  All active Lake Run Club Members are entitled to $10 off their registration.  Seriously, $10 off!  Thank you for being a Lake Run Club member and supporting this local event.

WHAT'S IN STORE FOR 2021?  Certified course.  Custom commemorative race bib with your name on it (if you register by October 1st).  Post race food.  Chip timed, with split times at 1/3 and 2/3 of the way.  Awards.  Finisher medal (optional).  Of course swag (stay tuned for an announcement).  Like in 2020, the more that register, the more fun we will offer (remember the food truck?).  And beautiful fall colors.  Our goal is to give you your money's worth.

WHAT ABOUT THE MARATHON?  In 2020, there were no other marathons to run anywhere close.  In fact, we had participants come from across the country (North Carolina, Washington, Kansas, Florida to name a few) to run the marathon.  With the return to racing in 2021, there is a marathon scheduled in Illinois every other weekend in October.  Our intent is not to compete with established events trying to come back after the pandemic.  We made the difficult decision not to host the Marathon in 2021.  If a marathon is your plans, we encourage you to support one of these events to ensure their longevity.

Half Marathon Male - Guillermo Rolon, 1:14:56.7, 2020
Half Marathon Female - Tonya Nunn, 1:31:38.1, 2020
Least Amount of difference between fastest lap and slowest lap - Eric Crutchfield, 2020.  Only 2.3 seconds difference!
